When browsing the WWW they get often a message saying (I have to translate) : There is no information available about revoking the website’s certificate. When I choose the last option it displays a certificate «Attributed to : a248.e.akamai.net» «attributed by : Cybertrust Public SureServer SV CA» and the certificate is still valid (till 06/2015).
From what I’ve read this a248.e.akamai.net is actually some kind of malware-like thing which is a PITA to remove. I’ve searched methods of removing it but it still wouldn’t help.
What I’ve done already :
— Use CERTMGR.MSC to remove the certificate (not always present)
— Scan with Malwarebytes >> no results regarding a248.e.akamai.net
— Clean search plugins (like ASK TOOLBAR etc.) + uninstall other suspicious software (toolbars, …)
— A McAfee scan doesn’t reveal any virus-like files
This really reminds me of the gator.tickler from years ago (maybe 15 years) which was also a PITA to remove.
I would like to avoid nuking the PC’s affected by this … but if needed I will do just that.
Anyone has any clear idea on what a248.e.akamai.net is ?

You can use Keychain Access to change the trust for the cert from Use System Default to Always Trust. For me it was the cert a248.e.akamai.net. After downloading the docs I switched it back to Use System Defaults. Or you can wait for Apple to correct the mistake.
