- Switch on your computer system then sign on as an administrator.
- Click on the Start button then click All Programs, Accessories, System, and after that select System Restore.
- Inside the new window, select “Restore my PC to an earlier period” and after that click Next.
- Select the most recent system restore point from the “select a restoration date” listing, then click on Next.
- Then click the Next button on the verification window.
- Reboot the pc once the restoration has finished.
Or:
- open the directory where the file is stored in windows explorer
- right-click on the file and select properties
- Select the previous versions tab
- Select the most recent version from a restore point and select ‘open’
- If the file opens successfully then save it as a new version of the file.
- If it won’t open, try an earlier one, and so on until you are successful.
