The recent thread about a smaller phone accessory has made me curious… is your phone too big for your pocket?
We don’t know, so it’s possible. And it’s possible, so it’s probably probable.

Yep fits no problem, but I’m looking to get a larger phone eventually specifically looking at the Galaxy S IV or Note III (when they are announced), maybe the Xperia Z since I want a larger screen. It is slowly becoming my primary entertainment device and for that a larger display is welcome.
PCs: Dell 8700, Asus G50Vt, Alienware m11x R2 — Core i7 640UM
Smartphones: Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Frost White

I only buy pants with pockets past my knees. I like lining them with rolls of cash at the bottom to cushion my phone that I place on top.

IF the poll is to be believed a large number of people bought phones they cant carry around comfortably. Those that have issues with their phone tell us whats going on. I dont have any issues with my S3 but I am tall (6’3″) and I wear «business casual» style clothing, are you wearing jeans or something else with smaller pockets? Do you try to use the smaller phone pockets that clothing used to have and would clearly be inadequate for 5′ phones? Are you a women with a larger phone?
The comments paint a different picture from the poll so I would like to hear what problems people have from those who voted no. Remember this isnt a discussion about if you like big phones or not, its about if the large phone you have or had was uncomfortable to carry around.
We don’t know, so it’s possible. And it’s possible, so it’s probably probable.

I wear jeans and my Xperia T (about 4.6″ screen) barely fits in my pocket, but it’s awkward to the point for the first time ever I generally do not keep my phone in my pocket, which is frustrating for getting notifications when you can’t have your sound on. It’s a big flat bulge in my pants and I notice it far more than my previous phone, an iPhone 4.
And if I’m sitting down, trying to get the phone in my pocket is not even worth trying.
It should be noted I have a case, but then when I had my iPhone 4 with a silicon case this was not an issue, and I carried that phone in my pocket at all times comfortably. Ironically, I eventually switched my iPhone to a non-silicon case that went in/out of my pocket even easier, and that’s what led to me having the phone lost/stolen. (It slipped out as I got out of a cab, I noticed just as the cab pulled away but it was too late. I called it and the person said «it’s mine now.»)
It’s because of that reason that I have a case on my Xperia. It’d be easier without the case, but still not easy, and still nowhere near as convenient as my iPhone. That said, I like the bigger screen, but about 4.6″ is my cap. Anything bigger I would never consider for this reason.

I’m 5’8″, I wear either regular-fitting Jeans or Dress Pants. I have NO problem at all fitting my HTC One X with an Otterbox Defender in my pocket. For a while I was carrying two phones, a One X w/ defender, and a naked Galaxy S III, I had no problem. If you think phones are too big to fit in your pockets, you need stop shopping in the Women’s section of JC Penny.

Well, at 5’8″, I guess you have to choose between the women’s or the kids section </kidding>
Seriously though, with 2 phones in your pockets, you have no problem sitting? I wear fairly loose jeans but I cannot imagine how baggy they would have to be to sit comfortably with two phones, or even one tablet-phone for that matter. They are just too long.

I started not putting my phone in my pants pocket, No matter what size it is. (I’ve had an iphone to a Note 1)
It does not look good having a bulge in your pockets. In the winter I put my phone in my jacket pocket. In the summer I always have a bag so it works.

HEY!
but in all seriousness, just normal jeans. Not super baggy, but not super tight. I make sure to line the phone up down my leg so it doesn’t bend around and crack the screen, but even if it is sitting horizontally, I don’t have problems. Do I notice them? Yeah, sometimes, but I’ve never had a problem. I usually keep it in my jacket pocket, but if I’m not wearing a jacket, it fits no problem in my pants pockets.

Yeah, I’m mostly just ball busting. The S3 is probably the largest I could really imagine fitting and I expect it would require adjusting before sitting. The Note 1/2 are just insane to squish into a pocket though.

I would have continued going the other thread but we already took up half a page lol. As for your other point I was the same until I got my S3, now I could see having the Note 2 without too many issues. A Note 2 with a case may be a different matter though, I wouldnt have a case on my S3 if it wasnt for me being paranoid about dropping it.

Every so often I kind of wonder what percentage of us will have ball cancer in the future.
Of course having a cell phone next to your balls 18 hours a day is fine.
Remember that not so long ago smoking was an acceptable and healthy lifestyle choice too.

That would be any model of iPhone prior to the iPhone 6.

I did consider the smaller size but decided against it.
If you want Apple to know how you feel, use the Feedback link:
http://www.apple.com/feedback
Meanwhile, you might want to consider Reachability. Two light taps on the Home button will bring the stuff at the top of the screen down to where it’s easier to reach.

There is the iPhone 5S and 5C which are smaller ….

My thumb is not long enough to use the iPhone 6 with one hand. Asking users to perform an extra step- double tap the home button to pull the icons down, is a miserable work around and should be embarrassing to the designers.
The iPhone 6 is also too big for the front pocket on my jeans. It goes corner to corner and digs into me when I sit in the car or at my desk. I always know the phone is in my pocket and I find it very annoying.
Moving the sleep/wake button directly opposite volume buttons means that all of the buttons get pushed when any one of them is meant to be pushed.
The phone is not a good design.
I like the thinness, I like the battery life, I like the camera, but I don’t like the size or the button placement.
I actually gave the iPhone 6 to my wife and bought a new 5S, which is not nearly as good, but it is a usable size.
I too, am asking Apple for a new 6 minus as the next iPhone hardware release.
I did use the feedback link to tell Apple that I am unhappy with the 6. It isn’t an easy-to-use phone.

And you didn’t notice this before you purchased it? Lucky for you that you didn’t purchase a Samsung s5!!!!!
Telling Apple is your only option, and rounding up most of the 35+ million buyers to agree with you so Apple may grant your wish on an iPhone6 ‘minus’.
Good Luck

I have just traded my brand new I phone 6 with my wife’s 5, because of the size. I when I was asked what phone I wanted I specifically said I want the smallest phone yet the smallest six is nearly 20mm bigger than the 5!
they are too big to fit in your pocket.
I believe the fact that they are bigger and thinner means they break easier.
as a tradie they need to fit in your pocket!!
the larger phones are not suited to any one who does not carry a hand bag or briefcase!!
Honestly i’m really annoyed at Apple about not offering a smaller phone (I reckon the 4 was the perfect size) and am considering moving to another phone brand… but the apple software and usability is so easy it makes me hesitant to move

I’m a woman and the iPhone 6 fits in my pocket though, most of the time I use a belt clip just because it’s easier.
