Сервер сообщает об ошибке err maildrop already locked

E одного из пользователей с утра начало выскакивать сообщение об ошибке — «Mdaemon — Ошибка ERR maildrop already locked».

maildrom locked - Mdaemon — Ошибка ERR maildrop already locked

Как оказалось 2 или больше клиентов не могут в одно и то же время обращаться к одному почтовому ящику. Только по очереди. Поэтому кто первый подключился, того и тапочки. Второму юзеру сервер отвечает именно этой ошибкой.

Как оказалось юзер сам еще жал кнопку принять/отправить почту раз несколько подряд. И ему выскакивало окно ввода пароля для ящика. Перезагрузка машины и внушение в мозг юзеру решил все проблемы.

My pop3 clients can not download their message from mdaemon server and this error happend:

maildrop already locked

Mdaemon install on Virtual Machine , i set PumpPOP=No in Mdaemon.ini and [Special] part , but nothing happend.

could you please help me ?

  • Hello Mohammad,

    This typically happens if more than one client is trying to connect to an account at the same time using POP. Is this affecting a specific account or multiple accounts? Do you have the option to use IMAP or are you required to use POP in your environment?

    This is affecting on multiple accounts in same time , No , unfortunately , i can not use IMAP , . this error happen more than 5 times in a busy day. so for resolve this i try to delete content of lock folder manually but it’s not a suitable way to solve it.

    so could you please help me.

  • I keep getting this messages when I press Send/Receive for all of may accounts:  The server for account «Ditex» returned the error «maildrop already locked.» Your username/password or security settings may be incorrect. Would you like
    to try re-entering your password?

    but all of my passwords and user names are fine. I do receive the emails
    with lots of delay, and keeps poping out the above message for al lof my accounts
    . This problem occured about a week ago, that I installed my IPhone.  I do receive my emails of all my accounts in my IPhone with no problem and quick, but not into
    my lap top Mac Book Pro.  Can somebody help me fix this issue?

I have multiple email addresses on a Win2K server running ALTN’s mdeamon. Works Great!

I have used other programs in the past that have not resulted in the server responding with:

«Sending of password did not succeed. Mail server … responded: maildrop already locked.»

I have looked in Thunderbirds tools/options and have seen no setting for this type of error. I have also looked at the mail server to see if there was anything I could do to resolve this error.

As I previously said, I have not gotten this error while using two other email programs.

Would anyone know of a way I could get around this error?

This is an ALTN error due to a lock file that is created that allows only one Pop3 session open at a time. They suggest that the user not check their email repeatedly so quickly. I may be able to get around this if I could tell Thunderbird in what order to check the mail. I do not see any options for that.

If you select the account and then click Get mail, it will only get mail for that account. Also, what do you have set in Tools>Account Settings>*each account*>Server Settings for Check for mail every xxx minutes and for Check for new message on startup? You may need to do this all manually with your server rather than use the automatic settings. You could also try staggering the minutes setting.

Hi we are trying to connect a mail host with valid user name and password by using

 store.connect(host,user,password); // store is an object of          javax.mail.Store class.

from our linux server, but we are facing a below exception.

    error while reading messagesjavax.mail.AuthenticationFailedException: maildrop already locked

please help me how to solve it.

note: with provided credentials im able to login to the mail from from UI.
and im also able to send email using telnet, mail is delivering to recipient successfully.
